There comes a time in every task completing life that you forget to take care of yourself. The only solution is to schedule a mental health day. A full day of relaxation, fun, and well needed rest is a necessity in life. You'll wake up the next morning ready to take on the day. There's nothing better than coming back from a break, because I usually feel as motivated as ever to take on my tasks.

Motivation is just as important as taking breaks. You have to learn when it's a good time to stop and smell the roses along the way. So go for a walk or take a nap, but come back to your tasks ready to defeat them. Ice cream or a snack is also a great choice of break. Even doing some journaling is a great way to relieve any stress and give yourself a break. Whether it's a quote page or entry about a great ice cream cone you're eating, it doesn't matter. Just relax and enjoy a much needed break before you get back to getting things done.
Self motivation is one of the most important factors in productivity. Everyday there are tasks that need to be done, and it's your choice if you procrastinate or just get them done. That's what you have to think about would you rather scramble at the last minute and not do your best work, or do your best work and be relieved after they're done. My choice most of the time is try and do my best work rather than wait till the last minute to finish it. Bullet Journaling is a large factor in staying motivated. It's a way to continuously task plan, but it's fun! I recommend it to all because it's a fun way to stay motivated and get things done.
Today's Plan With Me Challenge is all about my workplace. I have had this desk for a long time, and I still love it. It has enough room for all my pens and paper. I've spent a lot of hours sitting here and have accomplished so much. Here the creation of elephant erin began. I brainstorm here and the ideas just flow. Having a workplace that helps your creative juices flow makes it so much better. Create a workplace that you love and you'll start loving work:)
Why I Plan I plan because I love being productive and getting things done. It's so satisfying to complete everything on your list and be able to relax for the rest of the day. You can express yourself in your Bullet Journal and know that it's for your eyes only. You can bring it everywhere and it becomes a little piece of everything that is happening in your life. It's like a scrapbook of your life without the fancy paper (unless you want it that way). You can do whatever you want with it, and that is a beautiful thing. Adventures
I love going on adventures with my lovebug, and 9/10 times my bullet journal is right in my purse for all of those. Going through the pages it's a constant reminder of where you have been and where you're going. The journals I have collected and will continue to collect are windows in to my past, and I love that. So if you want to go on an adventure start using the Bullet Journal system and you won't regret it. Go on an adventure Today's Plan With Me Challenge is all about time saving. For me, the most effective method of time saving is NOT procrastinating with what is important each day. The first thing I do when I wake up each morning is decide what task is the most important and complete it before noon. This way the day is downhill from there and you feel much more accomplished. Here's some bullet journal tips that help me save time and accomplish my goals. 1. Complete your daily spreads the night before. It's a great feeling to wake up each morning and know your day is planned and know exactly what's on tap. 2. Complete your weekly spread on the Thursday or Friday of each week, so you can get a jump on the tasks that are soon approaching. ps: don't forget to make sure you go far enough ahead in your journal that your dailies will fit before that weekly spread. I estimate 2 dailies per page. 3. Monthly spreads should be completed a week before the month starts. If you fail to do this the first week of the month is way more stressful than it should be. 4. Constantly I am reflecting on what is working in my bullet journal and eliminating what is not working. Doing what works best for you saves a lot of time (you may love the way that artistic spread looks, but do you have time for that?-most times I answer no to that question). 5. Always carrying either a mini leuchtturm or the regular bullet journal size is essential for quick note jotting. This way you will never forget what has to be done.
As always: email me with any questions you may have or shoot a comment in the box below. Every evening I make a header for the next day. This way I completed everything that I could have for the day and can migrate what's important to the next day. I check my weekly spread for anything scheduled for the next day and add them to the task list. It works for me pretty well but what's important is to do what works for YOU!
If you watched my Hobby Lobby adventure video you know that I purchased an off brand version of the Tombow brush pens in pastel (that are on my wishlist) yesterday afternoon. I am super excited about them because I really love the colors. So it's fitting that I post them today in the Plan With Me Challenge part of my website on color day. In case you're wondering what that actual brand is they are Le Plume in pale blue, pastel peach, wisteria, bubble gum pink, yellow green, and cool grey.
Something I recently added to my Bullet Journal is an income log. I have direct deposit and I often forget to check when my paycheck is put in. This collection forces me to know what's up with my money. I then can refer to my spending log and wishlist and become more accountable with my purchases and make them count. I'm hoping it works out but I'll keep you posted:)
Recently I purchased the mini pocket sized leuchtturm on amazon for $10. I find that it's great for task lists on the go, grocery lists, and jotting down your favorite quotes. It's a hard leather cover and bounding, includes one silk bookmark that is the same color as the journal, and a pocket attached to the back cover. I really enjoy having this little journal filled with happy thoughts to help me get through my days.
