I'm kind of a freak when it comes to carrying around my bullet journal and some supplies that go along with it. If I leave the house without it, I feel lost and unplanned. My Bullet Journal practically is my life and without it a piece is most definitely missing. I'm not alone in this, many users of the Bullet Journal system often carry either their actual Bullet Journal or a travel size version. I purposefully buy a purse that my Bullet Journal can easily fit into without a problem. If a new task arises while I'm not home, which happens ALL the time then I can whip it out of my purse and jot it down in the appropriate collection. It works well for me, so try it out and do what works best for you:) Whether it be a mini leuchtturm, a travelers journal, or just a mini notebook you picked up from the dollar store, it doesn't matter because the system was created for adaptability. Happy Planning!

Today's Plan With Me Challenge has a goal in mind, to get you to start thinking about the up and coming month. The last week of the month is always crucial to having a smooth next month. Start planning early and the month will feel like a breeze:) I made a new spread with some ideas and plans I have for July I can't wait to put them into action!
I'm on my second Bullet Journal and believe me I have come a long way. My handwriting has improved and I can plan better now. This post is going to show the transitions between my spreads and how they have evolved. My notebookI have transitioned from a black hard leather graph paper Moleskine notebook to a royal blue hard leather Leuchtturm1917 dot grid notebook. I am definitely a Leuchtturm girl and I am so happy I chose it as my second Bullet Journal. DailiesI started doing dailies late in the pages of my first bullet journal so they have evolved the least of my pages. WeekliesThe spread on the left is my first weekly spread I ever created. As you can see I went from a lot going on to a much more simple approach that is not as time consuming. Simplicity has become my main goal for my spreads. This way I can focus more on what has to be done rather than just creating spreads. monthliesAs you can see my goal for my monthlies is simplicity. I went from drawing out every calendar box to just writing the dates and leaving two lines open. I love the simple goal because it helps me to be more productive. collectionsThis is my favorite evolution of them all. My handwriting looks like a different person did these spreads. It's amazing what practice does for you.
Today's challenge is New Ideas, and since I'm just off the ground running with elephant erin I still have a ton of ideas. Bullet Journaling helps those creative juices continue to flow. I'm constantly jotting down random thoughts and new ideas to keep you guys, my readers interested in my site. I have so much to share and want to make sure what I'm sharing is what everyone is interested in. So comment below and tell me what you want to read and what you're interested from learning from me:)
One of my favorite things about the Bullet Journal system is its adaptability. You have the power to decide what is the most important to complete based on the time you have during the day. That is time management. There are only so many hours in a day and deciding what is the most important to complete in the time you have allotted is an incredible talent. The Bullet Journal system helps time management become your favorite thing. Everyone is capable of being productive and capable of doing amazing things throughout their lives, but the first step is learning what is most important to you.
This is my all time favorite quote and ever since my grandmother gave a sign to me with this it painted on I have lived by these words. I hope it changes your outlook on life As you grow up, you will have your heart broken more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures. Laugh too much and love like you've never been hurt. Because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
A lot of Bullet Journalers do what's called a habit tracker, I on the other hand do not. If you're having trouble getting up early or exercising everyday a habit tracker will work wonders on your motivation. Kara from Boho Berry uses a habit tracker everyday here's what her looks like At the end of the month it's a great way to see an overview of all of your tasks that you do on a regular basis. After looking through a ton of habit trackers on Pinterest I'm definitely going to try one out next month to see how it goes. Let me know if anyone wants to try it out for the first time with me:)
Today's Plan With Me Challenge topic is favorite ideas. I have chosen two ideas that I have had that have seriously changed my life in a short amount of time. bullet journalingI've been Bullet Journaling for about a year now and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I was constantly buying a new planner because I just wasn't feeling the one I had. Either it didn't have enough space or it was too structured, I was looking for something that was more me. In the end I discovered Bullet Journaling, and what isn't more yourself than something you basically create yourself. I fell in love with the system and its adaptability to life. I love having the ability to have a planner, journal, quote book, idea book, etc combined in to one nifty notebook. Pinterest is full of pages with interesting ideas, but Bullet Journaling is definitely my favorite. elephant erinI have had blogs before but they didn't have the flexibility of a website blog rather than just a straight blog. This summer I decided to try again and create a place where I can write about all of my passions and any aspect of life I feel like. That's what elephant erin has become, a place where I can share anything that I want to with my readers. I hope all of my readers enjoy it and take something from it. Whether it be starting their own Bullet Journal or start shopping at the thrift store I love knowing there's a possibility that I influence the lives of others.
I'm thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength
Today's Plan With Me Challenge is about challenges and struggles. I decided to create this quote page with a new method that was featured by Boho Berry. Using tombow brush markers, a plastic bag, and a few droplets of water I was able to create this water color background for my favorite quote about struggles. Simply scribble whatever color combination you want to on the plastic bag, flick water droplets onto the scribble side of the bag, press the scribble side of the bag onto the page, and rub it around. Viola you get a watercolor master piece. No matter what happens in life remember that failures and challenges do not define you, however how you come back from them does. Just keep swimming my friends Gratitude: noun; the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness
Today's plan with me challenge topic is gratitude. I seriously love this topic because I am grateful for so much in life. This page in my Bullet Journal is just a snapshot of everything I'm thankful for in life. It's important to always remember what you're grateful for and keep them close because even in the darkest of times these things shed some light on any situation. This is why I continuously keep a gratitude log in my Bullet Journal. Everyday no matter how hard it is I force myself to find what in that day I am grateful for. Believe me sometimes it is a difficult task to find a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, but if you try hard enough the clouds don't seem as big of a deal. |
